How to Lock USB/Hard Disk with Password ? Follow the below steps
1. Plug in USB/Hard disk which you want to password protect !
2. Right click on it, and then click on "Turn on Bitlocker "
3. Now check the box ❐√ "Use a password to unlock" and fill the password as you want and click on next
4. Click on "Save the recovery key to a file" on your desktop for now but when this process is completed, you must save it at another place !
Note: This key is your password resetting key which can be used when you forgot password, so keep it at safe place like you can save it in your email!
5. Now click on "Next" and then click on "Start Encrypting"
Note: Do not remove the disk till it completes, or if you want to remove disk then first "Pause" the encryption and then safely remove ! This encryption will automatically take place after filling password when you insert next time ! so you can complete this next time !
6. Wait for the encryption completes ! It will take time depends on your disk size !
Note: Do not worry if you have data in the drive will be safe, they won't be formatted !
7. After completed the encryption, Remove the disk and insert again, it will be locked as shown below
8. To unlock this, Double click on it, A password windows will appear, Fill the password and unlock it !
That's All !! Done!!
