Keyboard shortcuts
Shortcut keys are the use of a keyboard or a combination of a few keys to complete a function command to achieve the purpose of improving the speed of operation.
Windows system gradually improving day by day. And In order to improve the user operating efficiency in the window environment, if user knows the shortcuts of the keyboard will make computer work easier and faster.
Today let us know some of those commonly used in Windows keys.
First of all, the most common shortcuts are CTRL + X, CTRL + C and CTRL + V in daily life which is most people use the most familiar shortcut keys. Are "cut", "copy" and "paste" function.
Left CTRL key and X,C,V are close to each other, so these shortcuts are easy to use for right handed person!
But the question is coming, how about left hand? Although you can use the right hand to press CTRL + C, CTRL + V, CTRL + X, but because the location will be very awkward, so Microsoft also specifically designed short keys for the left-handed, they are CTRL + DEL / cut, CTRL + INSERT / SHIFT + INSERT / paste.

Some important shortcuts/ Short keys
- Home = Goes to beginning of current line.
- End = Goes to end of current line.
- Delete = Delete the selected item.
- Function keys
- F1 = Help in almost every Windows program.
- F2 = Rename a selected file
- F3 = Search for a file or folder
- F4 = Display the address bar list in File Explorer
- F5 = Refresh the current opened program window and paste time and date in text document. Eg: 5:16 PM 10/24/2017
- F6 = Cycle through screen elements in a window or on the desktop
- F10 = Activate the Menu bar in the current opened program
- ALT Key
- ALT + ENTER = Display properties for the selected item
- ALT + SPACE = Open the shortcut menu for the active window
- ALT + LEFT ARROW = Back
- ALT + RIGHT ARROW = Forward
- ALT + PAGE UP = Move up one screen
- ALT + PAGE DOWN = Move down one screen
- Alt+Esc = Cycle through items in the order in which they were opened
- Alt+F = File menu options in current opened program.
- Alt+E = Edit options in current opened program
- Alt+Tab = Switch between open programs
- Alt+F4 = Close the currently active program
- Alt+Enter = Open the Properties for the selected item (file, folder, shortcut, etc.)
- Ctrl Key
- Ctrl+A = Select all texts or files or folders.
- Ctrl+C = Copy selected item.
- Ctrl+Ins = Copy selected item
- Ctrl+X = Cut selected item.
- Ctrl+V = Paste
- Ctrl+N = Create a new or blank document in some software programs
- Ctrl+O = Open a file in current software program
- Ctrl+B = Change selected text to be Bold
- Ctrl+D = Delete selected item.
- Ctrl+I = Change selected text to be in Italics
- Ctrl+U = Change selected text to be Underlined
- Ctrl+F = Open find window for current document or window.
- Ctrl+S = Save current document file.
- Ctrl+Y = Redo last action
- Ctrl+Z = Undo last action
- Ctrl+K = Insert hyperlink for selected text
- Ctrl+P = Print the current page or document.
- Ctrl+Home = Goes to beginning of document.
- Ctrl+Left arrow = Moves one word to the left at a time.
- Ctrl+Right arrow = Moves one word to the right at a time.
- Ctrl + Down Arrow = Move the cursor to the beginning of the next paragraph
- Ctrl + Up Arrow = Move the cursor to the beginning of the previous paragraph
- Ctrl+Esc = Opens the START menu
- Ctrl+Shift+Esc = Opens Windows Task Manager
- Ctrl+End = Goes to end of document.
- Ctrl + Mouse scroll wheel = Change the size of icons on the desktop
- Shift Key
- Shift+Del = Cut selected item.
- Shift+D = Cut selected item.
- Shift+Ins = Paste
- Shift+Home = Highlights from current position to beginning of line.
- Shift+End = Highlights from current position to end of line.
- Shift + any arrow key = Select more than one item in a window or on the desktop, or select text within a document easily.
